Lost Dog - Henry
Pinned to The tavern cork board
A choppy, handwritten poster reads;
LOST DOG!
Henry is a long haired, scruffy, medium sized dog. Also responds to Henny, or Hen, or Henners.
5 GOLD
can be offered for Henry’s safe return to the Docherty family, across from Tamara’s Tannery.
Ways to approach
It feels essential that every notice board and job board has a note about a lost dog. While this can mostly serve as a filler for your board, consider occasionally mentioning a dog in the background the next time your party enters town. Mix it up between length of hair and size until the perfect combination comes up and if they manage to notice Henry.
Of course, we can go much wilder with our ideas - Henry may be a retired arcane academy dog, specifically trained to sniff out necromancy. Somehow his acute senses are able to pick out the specific vibrations of this school of magic and will track it down. One way to include this is to have the party find Henry barking at a specific location, somewhere unassuming, like a hat maker’s store. It’s only one Henry is returned that the owner makes a comment about Henry’s past life as a hall monitor at the arcane academy, though naturally, he doesn’t know the bit about smelling necromancy (that’s for the party to find out at the academy, or test out themselves by casting a few spells around the pup).
