Community Home Raising
Pinned to the Notice Board
A yellowed parchment with corners stained with dirt announces:
Community Home Raising
Due to the stone dragon’s reign of terror spreading, the Ogrekin of the mountains have been driven from their homes and are in need of a new one. We are more than happy to welcome them into ours and to share in the land, but to do so properly we must work together to create some new appropriately sized buildings for our friends.
Volunteers Needed
Speak to Ka’dar of the Masons’ Guild, who will be the local coordinator of this project. The project is unpaid, however, food and lodging will be provided for the time. Any donations will be much appreciated, which will go towards this project as well as any adventurers who would be willing to vanquish the looming dragon threat.

Ways To Approach
This week's poster was inspired by the old concept of a community coming together to build a village/town for everyone. When people are first establishing a settlement it simply doesn't work to have each person or family be only responsible for their own home and nothing else. As you can tell I thought about people getting displaced from monster attacks and then... I thought about flipping the script a little bit. In various tales there are 'monsters' who cause problems because they've been forced to move by another bigger monster, but what if instead of causing terror they created a new harmony? I would love to see how this community evolved as a campaign went on.
I left things a little vague on the poster as to where the ogres would settle to give room based on everyone's particular setting - whether that's a new addition to the current town or building a brand new town. Personally, I'm keen on the idea of an ogre/giantfolk district being added to a town or city and how that affects the development of the local area.
Also, what happens if some adventurers do finally step in to vanquish the draconic threat? Do the ogres move back to 'home'? I'm sure some will, but undoubtedly many will also stay and I'm super excited about this worldbuilding prompt and what it could mean for the local region.
