Are You Even A Real Adventurer?

Job - Bard Hire.png

Pinned to The tavern cork board

A quickly written and somewhat torn poster advertises:

Are you even a real adventurer if nobody will sing your praises?

Fortunately, this problem is easily solved by a bard extraordinaire joining your travels, experiencing your struggles first hand, and recounting your exploits across the land.

And it won’t cost you a thing; In fact, you’ll EARN gold!

Your party will be rewarded a portion of tips from your tales while the bard is travelling with you.

Seek Ewan Dufraine in the Singing Sparrow Inn to reach new heights of glory!

Ways to approach

Even if your party already has a bard, this poster can be a great reminder of how bards can use their influence to broadcast the party’s valorous tales across the lands. If the party doesn’t have a bard and would like one, they now have somebody who can also use their charisma in difficult circumstances - it could be at an additional charge though. In the same vein, this increased renown may come with some perks, such as being able to meet more important people or acquire certain jobs depending on what tales are being told. Ewan can ask which tales to sing about more and as a result the party may have more offers that are similar. More than just able to accentuate the party’s victories, Ewan is also able to ‘spin’ any failings of the adventurers, up to a certain point, of course.

Possible Repercussions

In the event your party decides they don’t want a herald to their successes, it’s pretty likely that some other party is going to snatch up this offer and get all the glory of having their name and tale spread far and wide. Could this start a rivalry between this group of adventurers and your own? Or maybe it just means your party now knows of some potential allies should the need arise.
